BIA Structure & Function
The Boating Industry Association of Western Australia Incorporated (BIAWA) is a not for profit
organization and the peak body representing the recreational and light commercial boating industry in
Western Australia. Our executive together with those from the BIAs from each State and the NT, form the
national executive, the Australian Marine Industries Federation.
The BIAWA is member driven, with an elected Board that oversees the management of the Association
by a small but dynamic staff in meeting the aims and objectives of the Association to develop a progressive
and sustainable Industry and to promote recreational boating.
Each State owns and operates its own major capital city boat show as part of the BIA national boat show
circuit, and most States also own and operate regional boat shows. Proceeds from these events are returned
to benefit the Industry via the BIAs which service members of the marine industry and address issues of concern
to their respective States. A contribution is also made to the AMIF to address issues of national and international
concern. Much has been achieved for the Industry and the boating community through the work of these Associations.
