BIA Membership is open to any business engaged principally in the marine
industry, subject to satisfying entrance qualifications.
The BIAWA is a non-profit, non-government organisation.
The BIA’s principal aim in line with the business plan, the BIAWA aims to
represent and promote a broad spectrum of the boating community.
The BIAWA exists to protect and promote the interests of Western Australia’s
recreational and light commercial boating industry.
The BIAWA is in the business of ensuring public access to water resources
and enhancing the prosperity, enjoyment and safety of everyone involved in
recreational and light commercial boating.

Membership of BIAWA is important for
the continued growth and development of the marine industry. Its members
include boat builders, retailers, engine distributors, yacht brokers,
trailer manufacturers, chandlers, hire and charter boat operators,
marinas, shipwrights, mechanical repairers, electrical engineers,
surveyors, manufacturers of parts and accessories and wholesale marine
distributors - all of which are dedicated to the continuous improvement
and sensible regulation of the Boating Industry. Association membership
is appropriate for any business that provides products or services at
either a commercial or retail level to the marine market. It lends
increased credibility to your business from the consumer point of view.
It provides you with the knowledge that you are part of an Association
that will go the extra mile to ensure that your business is represented
by one of the largest and most respected Associations in Australia.

BIAWA:

Provides a full secretariat and office facility which produces up to
date information for members
Provides the public with consumer boating advice service and direct
enquiries to members.

the industry into the future, to promote boating, increase facilities,
promote safety and forge stronger links with Government. As an
association of members the BIA has a stronger unified voice to promote
the industry and achieve its goals.

Promoting the Best in the Business
The BIA is proud to promote direct to
consumers the advantages of doing business with a BIA member. The BIA is
publicised through our advertising and educational programs as a symbol
of integrity and all members are entitled to use the BIA symbol to
identify their company as a BIA member.
All BIA members participate in a
voluntary Code of Ethics. This assures the public that your company that
has a high degree of integrity.
Industry Representation
The BIA has developed close
links with Government
and will represent the industry to all levels of government on marine
issues.
Advertising
The BIA actively promotes the boating lifestyle and it's
members through newspaper, radio and magazine advertising and may be able
to offer its members favourable advertising rates in selected in house
publications.
The BIA also undertakes promotional activities to increase
public awareness about the benefits of dealing with a BIA member. These
include The Rottnest Safety Convoy and Winter Boating Rally's
